Matthew 14: 22-33

Call to Celebration

Eternal Presence, we celebrate your gifts among us.
We are transformed in community.
One courageous act transcended time.
Empower us to embrace each moment.
Discipleship invites risks.
You calm raging storms.
One leap of faith magnified power among us.
Every little step we take toward wholeness reveals the magnitude of your grace and power. Amen

Offertory

God of Providence, we thank you for the promises you reveal to us through your Living Word. We confess that we are baptized believers. We understood trust and commitment as a part of the package when we joined our faith community; however, we didn’t consider the profundity of risks. When the waters get choppy and we want to return to the boat, remind us that the deep waters allow us to see you in new ways. Amen

Extinguishing the Light

Matthew 14: 22-33

A Prayer for Peace and Restoration

God, we are consumed by the wind and the waves during this time. This uncertainty feels
unsafe. Your sacred text promises security and assurance that this time will not overtake us.
God, when circumstances distract us from you Eternal Presence, share a glimpse of your strong
arm so we may remember that we too, can walk safely across the water, no matter the
conditions of it. Amen

Rev. LaTrell Harrison

  • I’m glad you’re sticking around a few more years Pastor Buchanan. I don’t know individual congregation members, but I want you to know I pray for you as a whole.
