ORLANDO PRAYER VIGIL People of Faith and Conscience
Date & Time Sunday, September 28th - 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Where: NE corner of Lake Eola
People of faith and conscience from across Central Florida are invited to gather for a time of prayer and advocacy for the detained immigrants and their families. This is an opportunity to stand together in prayer and witness against the inhumane and unconstitutional treatment of our neighbors being unjustly detained due to immigration related matters. Everyone is welcome! This is a peaceful gathering. Bring water and dress for the weather

Each first Sunday of the month at 5:00 PM, Windermere Union Church joins in serving meals at the West Orange Christian Service Center. This is a wonderful opportunity to share God’s love in action by helping provide food and fellowship to our neighbors in need. All are welcome to come, lend a hand, and be part of this meaningful ministry. Together, we can make a difference—one meal, one smile, one act of kindness at a time.

TURKEY DRIVE - Would you like to purchase a turkey? Now is your chance. We will be collecting money for Thanksgiving turkeys during the month of November. The money will be donated to Colectivo Arbos. Colectivo Arbol is a Florida-based nonprofit organization founded in 2017 by Isaret Jeffers to support migrant farmworkers and the Mexican immigrant community by providing necessities like food, clothing, and personal care items. The cost is $20.00 per turkey. Purchase a turkey, put your name on the paper turkey and hang it on the doors to the sanctuary.

During the month of November, the Christian Education Department will be collecting canned goods to support the Christian Service Center.
We invite you to participate in this important outreach by bringing non-perishable food items to church throughout the month. A collection box will be placed in the Narthex and clearly labeled “Christian Service Center” for your convenience. Please prayerfully consider adding a few extra items to your grocery list this November and place them in the box. Thank you for your generosity and for living out our calling to love and serve others.

On Saturday, November 15th, from 1:00–4:00 PM, our youth will be serving at Second Harvest Food Bank. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to make a hands-on difference in our community by helping provide meals for families in need. We celebrate their willingness to serve and invite everyone to pray for and support our youth as they share God’s love through action. Together, we are helping to bring hope and nourishment to our neighbors.

Every second Thursday of the month, from 7:45–9:30 PM, our church family partners with Matthew’s Hope to provide lunch for those experiencing homelessness in our community. This ministry is more than a meal—it’s an opportunity to share dignity, compassion, and the love of Christ with our neighbors in need. All are welcome to join us in serving, offering not just food, but hope and kindness. Together, we can make a meaningful difference—one plate at a time.

Gift Card Collection for Matthew’s Hope- Matthew's Hope fosters the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the homeless men, women, and children of our community by meeting basic needs, developing skills, and restoring dignity and independence.
