Call to Worship
One: If you are able, please stand for the Call to Worship…God of the Sahara and the Amazon…Maker of dry places and wetlands…Creator of heaven and earth…
All: We come before you with parched hearts made so by living in both the beauty and challenges of this world.
One: Holy One, your ability to renew us is unmatched.
All: And you renew us from within and without to make us whole.
One: Ancient of Days, you held us in the beginning, and you are holding us now.
All: Therefore, we reach out to you and draw as close as we can…and we do so especially during the start of this Lenten season in the name of Jesus our Brother and our Redeemer. Amen.
Offertory
Leader: Friends, the peace of Christ be with you!
People: And also with you!
All: Divine One, we are thankful for the restoration that is found in you alone. Your presence is welcomed here. We delight in knowing that you want to be wherever we are, and for that we are grateful. Remind us through your Spirit that you are the source of all good things. You truly quench our souls! May what we share today be used to testify to your goodness. In Christ we pray. Amen.

Scripture Lesson
Exodus 3:1-6 (NRSV)
3 Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian; he led his flock beyond the wilderness, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of a bush; he looked, and the bush was blazing, yet it was not consumed. 3 Then Moses said, “I must turn aside and look at this great sight, and see why the bush is not burned up.” 4 When the Lord saw that he had turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” 5 Then he said, “Come no closer! Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” 6 He said further, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.
