The Joy Discipline

February 9, 2018

χάρις,n \{khar’-ece}— grace 1a) that which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness: grace of speech

This Greek word (khar’-ece) changed the whole way I look at using my gifts as I serve our church and the world. Life and service using the gifts God has given us is meant for pleasure.

How might our lives be different if we paused for a moment before starting any task to reflect, how might this experience create joy, sweetness, pleasure, delight, charm and loveliness for myself and those whom I am serving? I have made a commitment to create this discipline to my life.

I am very curious to see how my life changes even in the simplest tasks like, walking my dogs.

My guess is, life will be sweeter and God’s delightful presence will be stronger. Grace is indeed a wonderful gift.
