Call to Worship
Leader: For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law,
All: for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
Leader: We were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed.
All: So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith.
Leader: Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian
All: We have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law

One: Let us pray…
All: Today we call upon you as Children of God to share in the love and work of Jesus. May these gifts, O God, become action and intention, fulfilling Christ’s commandment to love. Amen.

Galatians 3:23-26 (NRSV)
23 Now before faith came, we were imprisoned and guarded under the law until faith would be revealed. 24 Therefore the law was our disciplinarian until Christ came, so that we might be reckoned as righteous[a] by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a disciplinarian, 26 for in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith.
