Call to Worship

One: Sisters and brothers in Christ, if you are able, please stand for the Call to Worship…Giver of Life, come and revive us again.
All: Indwell us with your Spirit and let our souls awake to joy.
One: We come in the hope that you will breathe new life in us.
All: May what we experience with you today, and one another, change us forever.
One: We come in the hope that you might breathe in us new ways of serving.
All: Move us not to greatness but to faithful servanthood.
One: We come in the hope that you will move us to do justice.
All: So, people of God, give God the glory, and the honor, forever and ever. Amen.

 Offertory

One: Please join me in unison in our Offertory Prayer…Friends, the peace of Christ be with you!

All: And also with you!

One: Let us pray…

God, our provider, in Christ you give us a spring of pure water that overflows to eternal life. Your love and hope fill our hearts, so we want to worship you in spirit and in truth. Open our eyes to see the places in our surrounding community where we can reach others with hope and new life. Direct our tithes, gifts and offerings for your purposes. We promise to ensure they are used wisely and thoughtfully, as we embrace your ways as servants. We ask this through Christ, our risen Savior. Amen

Scripture Lesson

I Corinthian 3:1-9 (NRSV)

And so, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people but rather as fleshly, as infants in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for solid food. Even now you are still not ready, 3 for you are still fleshly. For as long as there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not fleshly and behaving according to human inclinations? 4 For when one says, “I belong to Paul,” and another, “I belong to Apollos,” are you not all too human?

5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you came to believe, as the Lord assigned to each. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and each will receive wages according to their own labor. 9 For we are God’s coworkers, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building.
