Two Sundays ago we focused on becoming one with God as Jesus was one. Last week we discovered that God’s Spirit empowers us to use our authentic voice. With that voice comes great power! Today’s passage is about putting our spirit and voice into action.
- The Mountain Top Experiences.
- When the Disciples SAW Jesus they saw him experientially.
- All Authority has been given; The power of choice, liberty do as one pleases.
- Therefor Go and make— Teach, Instruct all nations, Ethnos .
- Baptizing them, means immersing disciples in Jesus’ teachings and way of life.
- To obey Jesus’ commands in a more literal translation —to attend to carefully, to take care of.
- Making disciples is different from proselytizing.
- The Gospel is a way of thinking, living, acting and being!
- We become more One with God.
- We are much more clearer about our purpose.
- We are empowered to put our purpose into action regardless of any obstacles.
Call to Celebration
God of Mystery, God of Presence, we bring our full selves into this worship experience.
You bring wholeness to our disjointed and fragmented pieces of faith.
Although the language of our faith is eternal, you are the God who makes all things relational.
Our understanding of who you are is partial, but knowing you expands our vision.
You revealed to us that giving oneself fully to others gives life new meaning.
Our power is magnified through the sharing of our authentic selves.

God, through your Spirit, we are powerful beings. The work of redemption and transformation can flow through us. We admit that being a conduit of change is unsettling alone. As we give ourselves to the work of healing, remind us that Creator, Son, and Holy Spirit is with us.

A Prayer for Peace and Restoration
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
