Easter Sunday

April 12, 2020

Today we celebrate Easter like we never have before.  Fortunately, with technology we can still worship together but, it is not the same.  I have come to a place of realizing a lot of life will not be the same after COVID-19.  This will be the focus of today’s sermon.  Mary wanted to embrace Jesus when she recognized him and he would not allow her because he had not yet ascended.  She was wanting to embrace what was and could not because everything had changed.

Peace to you all and we too will transcend these ambiguous days!

Call to Celebration

Today is extraordinary.  The status quo has ended.
Embracing the unknown is the new normal.

Resurrection is available.
All things are new.  Time for new discoveries.
Protective gear is not needed. The veil has been lifted.
Glory is present. Christ is...Amen

Offertory

You are the exclamation point to our questions marks. Thank you for the commas that transform us over and over again. Easter reminds us our story does not end. We are just beginning. Alleluia! Amen

A Prayer for Peace and Restoration

May today there be peace within. May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance. It is there for each and every one of you. Amen

  • Enjoyed the sermon, and all the work that went into the whole service.
A suggestion for the greeting time: people hold their hands in prayer and say namest day. The yoga peace sign.
